Are you a fan of drugstore lipstick? I’m a total lipstick hoarder and usually buy mostly high-end products. However, I’m in drugstores and big box stores from time to time and always take a stroll down the cosmetics section just in case there’s something that catches my eye. On a recent trip to Walmart the Hard Candy Fierce Effects lipsticks caught my eye. These lipsticks retail for about $6 and come in an attractive tube.
These are “highly pigmented lipsticks with an ultra-soft weightless texture. The formula is infused with argan oil for added moisture and shine.” Fierce Effects Lip Stick is available in a wide variety of 24 shades and finishes, ranging from classic nudes, to reflective metallics, to bright, bold unconventional colors. They just added six new matte shades to the range to offer even more variety.
I chose to purchase an older shade from the collection rather than one of the brand new ones as I’m not a fan of matte lipstick on my mature lips. I chose my typical pink shade called At First Blush. This shade is a “go to” for me since it’s very wearable on a daily basis.

Verdict:
I like the way this lipstick feels on my lips. It truly is a weightless formula. I can get away with a single swipe. However, I usually apply additional layers. It’s not particularly long-lasting for me. The packaging is fun and seems much more luxurious than it is. The affordable price tag makes these lipsticks even more enticing to me. I recommend you try one or a few from the collection.

I’ve been eager to try something from Hard Candy but I never knew what to choose. Lipstick is always a good first choice. I love At First Blush on you, and it looks much lighter on than it does in the swatch. I had thought from the swatch it might be a good choice for me, thinking it was a mauve shade, but too light, boo hoo. Maybe Ruby Slipper instead. I love the cute packaging.

I think the packaging is so nice. I tried some but none as pretty as the one you bought. Wearing them doesn’t feel like a $6 lipstick.

I’ve never heard of the hard candy fierce effects lipsticks but will definitely look for them the next time I’m in Walmart. Your review has peaked my interest, especially the word “weight less”! I cannot stand a lipstick that feels painted on.

I’m glad the shade of lipstick you got didn’t disappoint. It’s a very wearable shade for an everyday look! I’m also not a fan of matte lipsticks, I do have matte lipsticks but I don’t reach for them like I should. Love the packaging too, thanks for sharing!
