Facial Fillers

October 27, 2014

I really hate the vertical lines that have been forming over my top lip for the past few years.  I know that it’s a natural part of the aging process.  I’m just having a hard time with that aspect of the aging process.  I’ve wanted to do something for a long time to help with the appearance of those vertical lines.  I’ve done a lot of research on different peels, laser treatments and facial fillers.  I’ve also researched doctors and clinics that provide these different types of treatments.

After thinking long and hard about my choices I finally had a filler done today.  I had Restylane injected into the upper lip and the area above to help alleviate the lines.  I’m posting just one picture of my lips from immediately before and immediately after the Restylane.  I will do a YouTube video next week when the swelling has subsided and I decide what I think of the route I chose to go.  So for now here’s the picture.

Before and after… I did have some lipstick on in the after picture.

Let me know what you think.  Also, PLEASE tell me if you have a similar problem and what you’ve chosen to do about it.  Are you happy with the outcome, etc?

Hi Stacy~ It looks good! Can’t wait for the video to hear how you like it in a few weeks. Question… does this mean you didn’t like using botox against the lip wrinkles? I’m in the research phase for mine and was leaning toward botox. You had it done a while ago if I remember correctly… Thanks xo ~angie

    Hi Stacie,
I think yours turned out really well! I have used the Juvederm twice. Once for my lip lines and once for the “marionette” lines from outer lip down to my chin. I liked the lip (though it hurt like the dickens) and I felt a little “chubby” after the other filler. (I’m 48) I’ve continued with the botox, but think I will wait a while on the filler until I get really desperate. 🙂 I will say I had some veneers put on my teeth and I think it helped with filling my lips out again. As we age, general wear on our teeth causes our mouth to sag and I felt like that was happening.

HI Stacie! I think it looks great! As you know, I’ve gotten fillers before but never for my mouth area. For some reason, that’s the area that scares me. Your results are encouraging though! Good for you! xo

Thanks Crystal! I think when we don’t like something bad enough we’re willing to give it a go, especially since it’s temporary. I wish I’d done it a long time ago though. Completely pain free was the biggest bonus of all for me. Thanks for stopping by! Stacie xo

I cannot believe it’s going to be in the mid 90’s I cannot believe it’s going to be in the mid 90’s here in the Dallas area this weekend after we had below freezing temperatures earlier in the week. Mother Nature is just keeping us on our toes.😅
